Broadband heating up = technicians needed

Expanding the broadband infrastructure throughout Vermont will require technicians.  Industry trained professionals make connectivity happen.

Chris May’s November 25th, 2019 Brattleboro Reformer article describers how things are heating up on the legislative front while communications providers are actively engaging workforce and education to recruit skilled workers.

The Windham Regional Career Center Adult Career & Technical Education is offering a Certified Fiber Optic training beginning January 25th, 2020.  Instructor David Hoten, credentialed through the Fiber Optic Association, will deliver the 3-year certification.

Upon learning about the offering, Precision Valley Communications of Springfield contacted WRCC and created an employer profile on Windham Career Connections in order to help participants network and discover opportunities.

Individuals interested in the training should contact Drew McDowell directly to review course details and explore financial aid opportunities regionally.
