Certified Fiber Optic Technician Winter 2020
Windham Regional Career Center Adult Career & Technical Education is pleased to announce Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFTO) Training.
Sanctioned by the Fiber Optics Association (FOA), CFOTs have the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities for general fiber optics applications. The need for fiber optic technicians is rapidly growing on the regional and national level.
The course is taught by a certified FOA Instructor. The class covers the following topics and leads to testing for a three year certification.
- Overview of fiber optic applications and installations
- Communications systems utilizing fiber optics
- Fiber optic components appropriate for fiber optic networks
- Installation of premises and outside plant fiber optic cable
- Splicing and termination
- Testing fiber optic components and cable plants
- Hands-On Lab Exercises including hands-on splicing, termination and testing
Instructor: David Hotin is the Program of Study Faculty at the Windham Regional Career Center Electronics program and has over thirty years of teaching and workforce development experience.

January 18th, 25th, February 1st, February 8th, 2020
Snow date – February 15th

Registration & Cost:
$625 covers textbook, 3 year certification test, consumables and lab fees
